We use OpenAI's gpt-oss-120b model.

New Memoria page shows highlights and notes per each book:
V0.1
First version is out now! We have few popular classic books, with abridged versions for each.
Levels of Abridgement
We offer three levels of abridgement, designed to for different reading proficiencies while preserving the author’s original tone and intent where possible.
- Beginner (A1-A2 CEFR). Short paragraphs and simple sentence structures using the 2,000 most common English words. Content length is significantly reduced (about 40% of the original). Style and tone are simplified but remain faithful to the author’s voice where possible.
- Intermediate (B1-B2). Uses clear, everyday language and moderately simplified syntax. Retains roughly 70% of the original length. Preserves the author’s tone and narrative flow.
- Advanced (C1-C2). The content is not shortened and vocabulary is not restricted. Essentially a retelling of the original work in modern English, maintaining its full depth and nuance.
